Charity at Royal Philanthropic Lodge

Through our various fundraising events and by the general generosity of our membership, RPL continues to contribute to charitable causes throughout the year. These include feeding programs, flood relief, coastal cleanups, blood drives, donations and mentorship. We are also patrons of the St. James Police Youth Club.

We look forward to your support.

Why Charity is important to Freemasonry

The three Great Principles by which we stand are Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. Freemasons are taught to practice charity and to care, not only for their own, but also for the community as a whole, both by charitable giving and by voluntary efforts and works as individuals.

From its earliest days, Freemasonry has been concerned with the care of orphans, the sick and the aged. This work continues today. In addition, large sums of money are given to national and local charities. Masonic charity is exercised at every level; individual Lodges make gifts and give aid to their own communities and every Province also gives to regional causes.

The overall value of grants made by the Masonic charities is in the millions a year, all of which is income generated within Freemasonry.
